Written for Kindergarteners and 1st graders, this box includes fiction, non-fiction, an activity book, and a final project and assessment based on the U.S. Common Core Standards and Virginia Standards of Learning.
Children will learn about maps and globes, citizenship and symbols, holidays, and famous Americans such as George Washington, Betsy Ross, Eleanor Roosevelt, George Washington Carver, and Martin Luther King, Jr.
Activities in the workbook include coloring pages, charts, matching, illustrating, project suggestions, letter writing, a maze using cardinal directions, map drawing, and vocabulary exercises.
We also include a page titled “What your child should know” at the beginning of each section and another titled “Questions to ask your child” at the end of each section. Use these to generate family discussion and debate.
The kit includes:

- An activity Book divided into the following themes: People in History, Citizenship and Symbols of America, and Holidays
