Religious Studies and Christmas around the World

Religion, religious traditions, and cultural celebrations are an important way for children to connect with their own history, learn about other cultures, and understand themes and ideas in literature, history, philosophy, and social studies. Most families share their own religious and cultural traditions on a regular basis. There are wonderful books available to share other traditions as well. Having a strong foundation of understanding of these themes and traditions will help children in future studies as the themes wind their way through a wide variety of stories, books, and historical events.
